Important Notice - Motorway tolls

If you are travelling to the following countries - Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia or Switzerland, you must pay a toll before entering the first toll road. If you fail to do so, you will be charged and debited with a replacement toll of EUR 120 - 300 plus a fine of CZK 1,300. This will be charged for each such offence on your journey. You can pay the charge by purchasing a vignette on the windscreen of your vehicle (petrol station) or online.

Valid driver's licenses

To drive a vehicle in the EU, you must have a driver's license issued in the EU, Great Britain, Switzerland, San Marino, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Norway, Monaco, or Vatican City. All others must also have an international driver's license issued in their country. Without it, you risk having your car confiscated, being fined, detained, or even taken to court.
